Renting an apartment or house can in some ways seem to be an even more daunting task than buying. Not only do you have agencies and the internet, you also have newspapers full of ads with accommodation for rent. But all of these mediums are irrelevant if you have not defined your parameters: size of accommodation, length of contract and, urban or suburban. By setting these guidelines you will simplify your search.
But when renting an apartment or house always demand to see past utility bills so you can assess how much extra you will be paying if it is not all-inclusive; be sure of what will the implications be if you break the contract early; make notes with the landlord regarding the state of the accommodation before you move in so that you will not get penalized for things that you did not do when you leave; and evaluate if it makes more sense tax wise to buy rather than rent.
